I’ve touched on this subject a few times throughout this website, but I’ve had the idea of dedicating a full write-up on Kratom Extracts. It’s a very important thing to know about before you make your first Kratom Purchase (it’s ok if you’ve already bought Kratom, you may learn a few new things in here!).
When somebody talks about extracts or concentrations, what they’re referring to is the basic content of 7-hydroxymitragynine (the active in the plant) in the Kratom.
Before I delve too deep into this page I want to start off with an example. Kratom is in the same plant family as coffee. When you go to your local Starbucks coffee shop to pick up a cup-o’-joe, you are faced with many options/forms that you can order the coffee in. If you pick up a light roast, the beans are younger thus making there be more caffeine in the bean. If you prefer a dark roast you’ll be met with a more robust, older coffee bean, with less caffeine. You can even get an espresso, an incredibly strong shot of coffee with a nice punch of caffeine that doesn’t last as long as coffee, but, while active will be far more potent that a standard coffee.
The same rules apply to ordering Kratom. You can buy the dried leaf straight off of the tree, or you can get what we called an extract earlier in this page. I’ve seen (and tried) the different extracts over at Arena Ethnobotanicals. From what I can remember there were a few, one 15x (meaning that it is basically 15 times stronger than the straight-off-the-tree leaves) and one 30x. I’ve tried them all and found the one that works best for me, I wont say which one it is but I will advise that you try all and find your own satisfying extract. I was even able to find a resin extract of 8x strength. It looked like a beautiful obsidian stone and felt like a chunk of molasses that had been left in the freezer overnight.
Extracts are an incredibly important part of purchasing your Kratom. Always check the entire site before making your order. I even called into Arena Ethnobotanicals and was able to speak with their specialist.
